This isn't quite a music review, actually, it is NOT a music review. However, since this is a pretty neat idea and isn't far from the realm of music, I thought I'd
share it with everyone.
SnagFilms.com had made it possible for everyone to stream Award-winning documentaries online for FREE. They currently have 225 documentaries on their data base. Those are enough to keep boredom off the summer, right?
One of the documentaries listed is
DIG!, a 2004 Grand Jury Prize winner at Sundance Film Festival. I'm sure many of you have seen or heard of it. But, if you haven't, here's a short description of the documentary: "Seven years in the making and culled from 2000 hours of footage,
DIG! plunges into the underbelly of rock n roll, unearthing an incredible true story of success and self-destruction.
Anton A. Newcombe of the
Brian Jonestown Massacre and
Courtney Taylor of the
Dandy Warhols are star-crossed friends and bitter rivals - DIG! is the story of their loves and obsessions, gigs and recordings, arrests and death threats, uppers and downers, and the delicate balance between art and commerce."
