Congratulations United States on the new President! I was clapping and on my feet in front of the TV during the best speech I've ever witnessed in my entire life. It was a monumental moment and I'm glad I'm old enough to appreciate it and young enough to hopefully see him shape this country into a better place. Nothing else I could say that hasn't been said and repeated by many already. So, lets return to our regular Sharing Lemons program.
While on the subject of a Chicagoan, I thought I'll talk about a band that started in Chicago,
The Smashing Pumpkins. Out of all the marketing efforts that
Billy Corgan have done recently, I should say the one I look forward to is their 2-disc DVD Documentary. The DVD documentary, entitled
If All Goes Wrong, includes 110 minutes of footage and live performance from their last year's 21-show residency in Asheville, NC and San Francisco, CA. Dave and I were two of the many that attended one of the shows in San Francisco, CA. Obviously, there's a sentimental reason for us to look forward to
If All Goes Wrong.
More over, if there's anything that
The Smashing Pumpkins still do best, it is their live performance. If ten years from now, I'd like to watch a recording of their live performance and revisit my youth or just to see
Billy Corgan getting frustrated in his night gown, now I can. I was worried that the documentary was just an over glorification of the new
Smashing Pumpkins. But, if I looked beyond the cover design and judged only from the trailer, it seems like the documentary wasn't pretentiously styled, the shots looked great and put together nicely as a documentary.
The DVD is set to release on November 11 and you can already pre-order it now! There's also a one-night only screening of
If All Goes Wrong at select theaters near you tomorrow night, find out where and watch the trailer right
here.
