There are too many new releases to choose from this past Tuesday and there's only so much time to sit, listen and review everything. Before I know it, another Tuesday is here! I do remember seeing this particular album being promoted some months ago, when it was first released in the UK. If the name sounds familiar, it is because he is one of the two lesser known members of The Strokes. From listening to the album, one can tell how much he contributes to the overall sound of The Strokes. (Like) A LOT. Yours to Keep sounds much like The Strokes songs, perhaps mellowed out and without Julian's vocal. That's not to say that Albert's vocal is bad. His voice actually fits the songs just alright. If you're a fan of The Strokes, you probably will enjoy this album as well. Even if you're not a fan of The Strokes, Yours To Keep is pretty listenable. Definitely deserves the honorable mention in the band-member-released-a-solo-album category.
