In my
previous post I have expressed my distaste for many Smashing Pumpkins tribute/cover albums but I made an exception for the
Lullaby Renditions album. I'm making another exception and this time it is for
The Hiss That We Have Missed. 19 Asaurus Records lo-fi bands covered
Smashing Pumpkins songs. Make that
Smashing Pumpkins less known songs. I mean who covers "Pulseczar"? The songs are rather casually performed and recorded. I like that it is what it is and not much of a modified versions of the Pumpkins songs to fit the bands style. I think the fact that the recording quality isn't high actually makes it cooler. It's almost like listening to a recording of your friends' band, who simply shares your fondness to the Pumpkins. The album was recorded and sold in cassettes format in 2004 and not until recently re-released on CDs.
